The site says everything and lands nothing

Most teams can describe their product in detail. Far fewer can explain why it matters, to the one person who needs to hear it, in the order that person needs it said. Without that, the site tries to say everything to everyone, and lands nothing with anyone.

Positioning is the work of narrowing: one reader, one belief they need to reach, one route to get them there. We help teams make those decisions before a single screen gets designed.

What is positioning and messaging?

Positioning is the decision about who you are for and why they should choose you over the alternatives. Messaging is how that decision gets expressed, page by page. Done well, the right buyer lands on the site, recognises within seconds that it was built for them, and understands what changes if they choose you.

How we work

We start with the buyer rather than the pitch deck: who they are, what they already believe, and what they quietly worry about before getting in touch. From that comes a positioning statement that founders, sales and marketing can all stand behind, and a message hierarchy for every core page. Nothing moves into design until the words are settled, because it's far cheaper to argue over a document than over a half-built site.

Case study: CloudNC

CloudNC had the product and the traction, but a site that explained a complex platform to everyone and landed with no one. We narrowed the story: they weren't selling to engineers, but to the people who managed them. Written and structured for that reader, the path to a conversation got shorter.

What's included

The work covers stakeholder interviews, a review of how your competitors position themselves, a positioning statement with its proof points, and a message hierarchy for each core page. It's delivered as a document your team owns and can hand to any designer or writer, and it's part of Discovery.

Outcomes

A site that makes the right people feel understood and lets the wrong ones self-select out, and sales conversations that start further along because the site has already done the explaining.
